PURPOSE:
The Asia Pacific Product Compliance Specialist position is responsible for internal and external customer support for product compliance assessments, interpretation of A/P regulatory requirements / initiatives, and information inquiries regarding regulatory compliance. This position will complement the global compliance team in performing chemical composition determinations, conduct compliance assessments based on these compositions, and file new/existing chemical notifications in support of the Asia Pacific business plans of Lubrizol Additives and Lubrizol Advanced Materials. This position involves application of Lubrizol chemistry knowledge to the requirements of evolving Asia Pacific chemical control laws and regulations. It requires effective integration with supply chain, logistics, commercial, operations and research organizations to provide maximum business value.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Receive and coordinate resolution of LZA and LZAM customer regulatory inquiries Communicate with customers and suppliers related to product compliance assessments of products and purchased raw materials, respectively Filing of new/existing chemical notifications and registrations for applications to secure regulatory clearance of products in Asia Pacific areas in a timely manner Compliance assessments and management of all product shipments to Asia Pacific areas via corporate process Set up or maintain regulatory compliance data in Lubrizol regulatory database/system Industrial chemical regulations monitory and interpretation in the region Other tasks assigned to support the team and business
REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Engineering ~5 years’ experience in R&D or product regulatory compliance; Fresh graduate from an accredited university is also in consideration Strong background in organic chemistry Strong computer literacy including use of relational databases Strong orientation toward daily customer service environment Details oriented and result driven Excellent oral / written communication and interpersonal skills (Fluency in English is a must) Ability to handle multiple tasks and to work under tight deadlines and changing priorities Must be self motivated and comfortable working in a team environment
CONSIDERED A PLUS:
Knowledge of and experience in LZA / LZAM product chemistry Advanced degree in Chemistry Knowledge and experience in global chemical control laws, or hazard communication requirements Experience in corporate ERP business systems, such as SAP-EHS Other A/P language skills such as Korean, Japan, etc.
