Job Description Summary

Responsible for ensuring the maintenance, uptime, and compliance of critical facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and energy management. Oversees on-site operations, collaborates with facilities teams, engineers, and IT, and drives energy efficiency initiatives. Leads the development and implementation of strategies to reduce energy and resource costs, providing data-driven recommendations for optimal energy management decisions.

About the role:

Provide engineering, critical operations, and technical leadership across all assigned facilities.Conduct engineering and critical operations assessments for large and high-risk sites annually and as needed.Work closely with facility management teams to ensure seamless and effective communication.Provide oversight and guidance for technical staff, working with Facilities Managers to evaluate engineering teams.Ensure all critical equipment is maintained per manufacturer recommendations, local codes, and company standards.Partner with the Regional Facilities Director to manage budget control and forecasting for contracts and major operations.Oversee the design and implementation of preventive maintenance programs in line with industry standards and company policies.Maintain strong communication with IT teams regarding critical operations systems.Immediately report any abnormal or critical conditions to Facility Management and the Global Facilities Director.Review and provide technical guidance on equipment upgrades, building improvements, and vendor management.

About you:

Four-year college degree is required, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures for critical systems, including HVAC, UPS, generators, boilers, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems.Minimum 10 years of experience in the field, with at least 3 years in a similar managerial role.LEED Accreditation is preferred, along with familiarity with energy efficiency programs like DOE Energy Star.Prefer experience in managing or exposure to High-Performance Building Programs.Experience in designing and implementing retrofits for data centers, cooling, refrigeration, HVAC, and facility lighting to improve energy efficiency.Proficiency in facility management software and strong computer skills.Strong managerial, teamwork, prioritization, and interpersonal skills to lead diverse teams effectively.Ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner for non-technical stakeholders.Familiarity with Supplier Business Review (SBR) processes and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure continuous improvement and operational excellence.
