API Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

Be an outstanding teammate and assist the development of workflows, and integrations with web services. Learning and getting familiar with the existing and very complex structure of systems and their interaction. Understanding and interacting with the various departments that manage the various integrated systems. Analysis of the various logs and routing of all necessary steps to resolve the problem, during SIT/UAT testing support phase. Maintenance and enhancement of the existing Java EE legacy application Delving into the existing code to understand it and to implement various enhancements taking into consideration the limited documentation. Documenting processes, support methodologies, implementations, structures and any other relevant to integrated services item.  Collaborate with our vendor supporting the enhancement development of the legacy application. Support the stream lead with detailed feedback on the various implementations on enhancements side.  Review and recommend improvements to existing system designs and engineering processes. Contribute to incremental upgrades and timely integration of application code changes and testing with reverse engineering. 

Qualifications & Experience:

At least 5 years of relevant experience as a JAVA EE Software Engineer and Object-Oriented programming  Previous experience in Spring Framework, Spring Batch. Experience in developing web services, web service APIs, as well as implementing code to consume existing APIs  Experience with Application Servers. Preferably IBM WebSphere. Experience with Case Management solutions. Preferably IBM Filenet, IBM Case Manager. Experience in both SQL & NoSQL Database technologies. Preferably IBM DB2, MS SQLServer, MongoDB. Knowledge of project lifecycles, understanding project lifecycle methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall and CI/CD  Experience in working with DevOps teams and Jenkins pipelines. Experience in unit testing and functional testing frameworks such as JUnit. Familiarity with common software engineering tools and practices (Git, Maven, etc)  Previous experience in message queues (e.g. Kafka) will be considered a plus.  Strong communications skills with the ability to cooperate with both executives and technical staff in Greek and English. Familiarity with Integration patterns with Backend systems.
