API Test Automation Engineer

Job Requirements:
· Full lifecycle testing of a new Java based web application that is integrated with other systems and services.
· Participate in the full life cycle of SAFe agile project and design and execute manual and automated test scripts.
· Participate in the Program Increment Planning sessions of the system early in the development cycle, review requirements, specifications and documentation to gain and understanding of the programs and to ensure testing quality and adherence to the specification.
· Experience in developing and executing API Automation Testing (backend).
· Develop, manage and execute maintainable automation tests for functional, integration, regression and smoke testing that verify functional and nonfunctional requirements of a feature.
· Understanding of automation framework development experience.
· Experience with Test Rail test case and defect management software to manage test cases, plans, runs, and document defects.
· Requirements mapping to test case specification.
· Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test cases developed and test environments used.
· Investigate and debug test failures, updating tests or reporting bugs as necessary and provide test coverage analysis utilizing Test Rail.
· Ensures that the team's acceptance criteria for stories and tasks is appropriate and being met universally for testability.
· Coordinate with the Business Analysts and Developers in planning and conducting the tests.
· Collaborate with development organization to understand how development changes affect ongoing automation efforts.
· Develop and maintain effective working relationships with CMS stakeholders and other contractors.
· Monitor progress against deliverables, employing effective risk and issue management strategies.
· Analyze root causes of performance issues and provide corrective actions.
· Review and recommend improvements to existing test procedures.
Required Skills:
· Proven experience:
· 3+ Years of Experience in CMS Medicaid or Medicare Programs preferred.
· 3+ years’ experience working with teams in an agile (SCRUM) development environment.
· 2+ Years of Experience in Automation Application Programming Interface (API) Testing
· 5-7 Years of Experience efficiently and effectively analyzing and testing programs and program changes.
· Building strong customer relationships through agile team(s) and personal performance
· Collaborating in a multiple contractor environment
· Exceptionally strong communication skills, verbal and written. Includes the ability to
· Experience with collaboration tools such as TestRail, JIRA and Confluence
· Proficient in MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel
Desired Skills:
· Proven experience with:
· Supporting client stakeholders with varying levels of agile experience
· Desired (pluses)
· Experience with Selenium & Cucumber for automation testing
· Testing systems for 508 compliances
· 508 Compliance testing tools such as JAWS
· Experience with Performance Testing.
Education/Certifications:
· Computer Science degree or BS/BA in a related major. Four years of equivalent technical experience may be substituted for a degree.
The proposed salary range for this position in Maryland is 100,000 to130,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
