Required License/Registration/Certification Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) Physical Requirements Lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion. Sitting or standing for extended periods. Loud noise on occasions. Eye strain. Shift Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Potential for shift adjustments based on patient volume. Job Summary The Pediatric Otolaryngology Advanced Practice Provider functioning within the Otolaryngology service line works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP functions primarily in the clinic managing the needs of the identified pediatric population and may also work closely with the outpatient testing groups.
The APP is generally on a service aligned team and manages the care of the outpatient with the team. In some instances the APP may have responsibilities for this same patient population in the consultative inpatient setting, operating room or serves a resource for the inpatient care team. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring an environment of safe quality care.
The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
