Specialist (Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner)
Position Description:
The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine, Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio has full time openings for an APRN or Physician Assistant faculty. We are seeking qualified individuals with a strong commitment to patient centered care and innovative team-based care to facilitate direct bedside clinical care as part of our medical intensive care unit team. The selected candidates will work 12-hour shifts, split between day and night, at a fulltime capacity in assigned settings. This position also includes clinical teaching opportunities.
This position will hold an appointment of Specialist as appropriate for applicant's experience and career trajectory. UT Health San Antonio offers a competitive salary, a comprehensive insurance package, and a generous retirement plan.
Position Qualifications:
Candidate will preferably have at least one to three years of prior experience in acute and chronic disease direct patient care management. Applicants should be prepared to manage a wide range of complex problems presenting in the hospital. Texas licensure and certification in Acute Care is required. Board certification as a Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner is required.
