Key Responsibilities:
Initiate level 1 appeals with payersReview response from payers on level 1 appeals and initiate level 2 appeals if necessarySubmit appeals and reconsiderations on claim rejections, underpayments and denialsInitiates insurance follow up on unresolved claimsIdentify, track, and report payer appeal/denial trends to managementRefers appeal cases to the designated department for obtaining support for appealsEducational Requirements:
Associate’s degree in accounting, business or related medical fieldRequired Qualifications:
1-3 years experience in revenue cycle operationsPreferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in medical appeals submissionsKnowledge of EOB’s, EFT payments, claims submission, denials, and ANSI codesUnderstand Medicare and Medicaid ratesHigh attention to detail, be able to multitask, and prioritize tasksMust be proficient in MS office and ExcelThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent written and verbal communication skillsLicensure/Certification Qualifications:FTE:1Possible Remote/Hybrid Option:
