Appian Software Developer SME
CTG is seeking to fill an Appian Software Developer SME opening for our client in Wilmington, DE. Location: Remote Duration: 10 months Overview: The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Appian version 23.1 or newer and be proficient in advanced Appian development techniques. This is a high-impact role within an Agile development team, where the candidate will be responsible for both new system development and ongoing production support, including incident triage and end-user communication. A key focus will be on delivering high-quality solutions across the entire application lifecycle. Education and Experience Required: Appian Associate Developer Certification required; Appian Senior Developer Certification preferred. Minimum of 6 years of experience in systems analysis and application development, with at least 4 years focused on Appian development. Hands-on experience with Appian version 23.1 or newer, Synced Records, Integration Objects, and Advanced SAIL UI development. Proficiency in Agile software engineering, methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues and develop appropriate solutions. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain applications using the Appian platform. Participate as a key member of an Agile development team to deliver business solutions and system enhancements. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members. Develop and execute detailed test plans, including debugging and testing applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure applications meet both technical and business requirements. Produce design documentation, formal unit testing, test designs, and code management. Participate in Agile sprint ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sizing, and impact analysis. Address production incidents, provide timely resolutions, and communicate with end-users. Assist in the development of technical and functional specifications and maintain system documentation. Ensure adherence to development standards, best practices, and regulatory compliance. Recommend process improvements and identify new technologies that may benefit the organization. Scope of Responsibilities: The Appian Software Developer SME will work under the supervision of technology management and is expected to work independently on complex systems analysis and technical development phases. The role may involve mentoring and overseeing the work of junior developers. The developer will interact with senior management, technology staff, and clients to gather requirements, provide solutions, and communicate progress. The role requires participation in project activities, including planning, milestones, and technical evaluations of vendor software. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: Provide guidance and support to junior developers. Review code and deliverables, providing feedback and ensuring quality standards are met. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $60/hour to $90/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
