Shared Services: Payroll- (Full-Time, Day Shift) -
Job Summary: The Application Analyst 2-Payroll maintains payroll and time and attendance software systems. Provides routine and daily user technical support to ensure that each user receives a high level of customer service. Conducts product research, testing, implementation and ongoing support of the software. Serves as liaison between Payroll, HRM, IS and various vendors. Assists with other payroll related areas, such as, non-resident alien and workforce tax reporting requirements. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of education. Minimum four years payroll and tax regulation experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Computer knowledge in Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and similar computer software applications. Able to operate a computer terminal and printer, copier, fax machine and/or other machines required for the position. Able to communicate in person and by phone about complex matters with department personnel, vendors, and others. Requires human relation and interpersonal skills in order to demonstrate an outgoing, tactful, congenial, sensitive response to the needs of others. Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a team player to achieve departmental goals. Ability to lecture, present, and speak to small or large groups. Ability to interact with all levels of staff. Be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure and time constraints; lead, teach, and collaborate. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Able to speak, read, and write fluently in English. Able to manage multiple assignments effectively. Must be able to troubleshoot problems situations, analyze possible situations, and articulate reasoning for recommendations. Possesses analytical, creative, and organizational abilities. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone. Able to identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position; discern temperature variances through touch.
Licensures and Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional or Fundamental Payroll Certification preferred.
