Position Summary
Supports information management needs of various client departments or workflows across the organization through project coordination, applications implementation, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance or enhancements. Manages small and medium sized projects as well as mentors less experience staff.
Essential Job Function
1. Assists with application implementation, support, technical guidance, and serves as a resolution point for issues regarding assigned applications. Works collaboratively with end-users to understand workflows and develop system support.
2. Assists with the support of existing functionality with further expansion to additional clinical, procedural and business areas.
3. Researches and benchmarks to continually refines and develops, configure and modify moderately complex information systems to meet user’s needs. Participates in system optimization.
4. Participates in the coordination of all testing phases associated with applications during implementation and upgrade deployments.
5. Develops strong relationships with end user communities, internal and external partners.
6. Adheres to detailed work plans and timelines. Identifies appropriate resources needed to complete assigned tasks and provide timely status reports.
7. Develops and monitors testing scenarios and methodologies to demonstrate system effectiveness. Prepare and maintain documentation on testing plans.
8. Participates in completion of user documentation and training procedures.
9. Adheres to HIPAA regulations for transactions, security and confidentiality.
10. Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Health Care or related field. A combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job.
2. A minimum of 1 year of related experience required.
3. Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
4. Working knowledge of Epic application preferred.
5. Ability to complete applicable EPIC certification within six (6) months of employment.
6. Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Windows OS and applications required.
7. Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills. Ability to articulate facts and ideas clearly and concisely.
8. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
9. Strong project management skills. Ability to prepare documentation to support established objectives consistent with generally recognized standards.
10. Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality relating to employee/patient and hospital

$76,960.00-$125,840.00 SalaryAt Lurie Children’s, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
