DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement pipelines that extract, transform, and load data into an information product that helps the organization reach its strategic goalsFocus on ingesting, storing, processing, and analyzing large datasets.Create scalable, high-performance web services for tracking data.Translate complex technical and functional requirements into detailed designs. Investigate alternatives for data storing and processing to ensure implementation of the most streamlined solutionsServe as a mentor for junior staff members by conducting technical training sessions and reviewing project outputsOther duties as assigned by supervisor.REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Must meet DoD 8140 Software Developer (621) requirementsBachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science. Science from an ABET accredited (abet.org) or CAE (caecommunity.org) designated institution fulfills the educational requirement for this WRC.Must meet at least one of the following baseline certifications in lieu of education: (DOD 8140; 632- Intermediate or Advanced Level Cert): GCLD, GSEC, CSSLP, FITSP-D, GCSA, GISF, SSCPREQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge and minimum two (2) years of experience in Application Programming and development. Experience with Python, Spark, and HiveProgramming Languages: Proficiency in Java, Python, or other relevant languages.Big Data Frameworks: Deep understanding of Hadoop ecosystem (MapReduce, Hive, HBase), Apache Spark, Apache Kafka.Data Warehousing: Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and tools (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake).SQL: Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and querying.Knowledge of industry-wide visualization and analytics tools (ex: Tableau, R)Strong data engineering skills with Azure cloud platformExperience with streaming frameworks such as KafkaKnowledge of Core Java, Linux, SQL, and any scripting language Good interpersonal skills and positive attitudeDESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Data Pipelines: Designing, building, and maintaining complex data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL).Data Quality: Implementing data quality checks and validation mechanismsData Governance: Understanding and adhering to data governance policiesStakeholder Management: Effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersTeamwork: Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and other developers to deliver data-driven solutionsExperience with Data Visualization Tools: Ability to present data insights visuallyMachine Learning Knowledge: Familiarity with machine learning algorithms can be beneficialSecurity Practices: Understanding data security protocols and best practicesREQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Minimum active Secret clearance; (must be TS eligible based on investigation type (T5)).
