Job Description:
The Office of Medical Education in the College of Medicine is accepting applications for anApplication Developer Analyst IIIopportunity. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that meet the needs of the medical education program. This professional level role works closely with medical education faculty and staff to understand medical education requirements, desired enhancements, and student support to develop quality technical solutions.
About This Role:
Software Application
+ Participates in and leads new software application architecture and design sessions in the development of solutions to improve medical education delivery, student support, and medical education research.
+ Initiates and leads the planning and implementation of software development process improvements, new methods, or new technologies.
+ Designs and configures solutions that fit into web application frameworks of the UFHealth Academic Health Center (AHC) and effectively use the UF Data Lake and UF Health Integrated Data Repository.
+ Develops dashboards and reports to be used by various users (e.g., individual students, deans, directors, career advisors).
+ Expands the functionality of the College of Medicine’s online course catalog system by adding new features proposed by program users and administration.
Systems and Database Management
+ Maintains student performance dashboard to accurately track and visually display educational metrics and outcomes.
+ Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves system errors.
+ Administers annual scheduling phases for medical students to schedule classes.
+ Imports incoming medical student classes into the internal catalog system, along with corresponding directory information.
+ Manages software integration between the College of Medicine’s internal systems and external programs.
+ Provides product support and maintenance of the data warehouse and reporting.
Analysis and Assessment
+ Oversees the definition of system scope and objectives based on user needs and prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
+ Analyzes business requirements and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation.
+ Provides time estimates of the analysis and development effort for medical education and student support IT projects based on requests/requirements.
+ Participates or leads in component and architecture design, performance monitoring, and product evaluation while using a variety of problem-solving techniques to assess and analyze as appropriate.
+ Conducts system testing and debugging to ensure application functionality.

Expected Salary:
$85,000 - $93,000; commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in computer, information, or informatics related field and three years of appropriate experience.
+ Expert knowledge of all aspects of software development lifecycle.
+ Experience with educational technology or performance tracking systems.
+ Familiarity with medical education.
+ Strong proficiency in programming languages.
+ Proficiency in designing, coding, testing, and deployment of software applications.
+ Experience in dashboard design.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
+ Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
