CTG is seeking to fill an Application Developer Mainframe Modernization opening for our client in Parsippany, NJ. Location: Parsippany, NJ Duration: 10 months Duties: Work with the application development team to modernize mainframe applications. Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications. Integrate DB2 databases, JCL, and MQ messaging services into mainframe modernization efforts. Analyze and troubleshoot mainframe systems to ensure optimal performance and scalability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to migrate legacy systems to modern platforms. Ensure compliance with client standards, security protocols, and best practices throughout the development process. Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Skills: Strong knowledge of COBOL programming language. Proficiency with DB2 database management. Familiarity with JCL (Job Control Language) and MQ (Message Queue) technologies. Experience with mainframe modernization techniques and tools. Ability to write efficient, maintainable, and scalable code. Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a mainframe environment. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Experience: 5+ years of experience in mainframe application development. Experience in modernizing legacy mainframe systems, specifically with COBOL, DB2, JCL, and MQ. Proven track record of managing full software development lifecycle processes. Experience working with both technical and non-technical teams. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
