Application Sales Representative

Purpose:
Provides product expertise and support for the sale of application equipment which may include sprayers, toolbars, spreaders, and tractors and other related customer enhanced products which may include Ag Management Solutions (AMS), Ag Logic, and Power Guard.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
+ Represents the Dealership in the sale of application equipment to customers in a defined sales area
+ Promotes and sells other related customer enhanced products including but not limited to Ag Management Solutions (AMS), Ag Logic, Power Guard, and John Deere Sprayer Parts
+ Creates, develops, and maintains customer accounts in the Ag Service Provider segment
+ Creates, develops, and maintains farmer customer accounts in the traditional large and extra-large producer segments
+ Provides weekly call reports to Sales Manager and CEO
+ Knows and follows a defined solution selling sales process
+ Maintains product knowledge on application equipment and reports on competitive marketing and product activities
+ Delivers application products and ensures the customer understands how to optimize use of the equipment
+ Organizes demonstrations, clinics, and trade shows in the designated sales area for customers on application equipment
+ Participates in the dealership promotional events (including but not limited to Dealership Clinics, County Field Days, others)
+ Follows Deere CBD guidelines for National Account Sales and business processes
+ Maintains relationships with key John Deere personnel related to application equipment
+ Maintains assigned company vehicles and equipment, including cell phone, laptop computer and any other company assigned possessions
+ Attends applicable sales training events/seminars, Customer Clinics, and demonstrations as required by the company
+ Maintains current knowledge or used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trading purposes
+ Maintain the integrity of the company and respect the current customer relationships with other company sales representatives
Qualifications
General Qualifications:
+ 1+ years equipment sales experience
+ 1+ years experience in the Ag Service Provider industry preferred
+ Knowledge of production agriculture industry and Ag Service Provider business
+ Knowledge of precision farming systems preferred
+ Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
+ Ability to work flexible hours
+ Excellent customer relationship skills
+ Ability to speak and write effectively one-on-one and within a group
+ Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports
+ High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required
+ Certified Crop Advisor certification or Applicators license preferred
+ Pre-employment drug screening required
Physical Requirements: Some lifting (up to 50 lbs.). Long hours on computer. Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.
