Position Description
The DTMB/MDOT does not have senior technical state resources to assist the department and team with key new generation projects. Resources are needed with senior level experience that can provide technical support as well as knowledge transfer to the existing team. The resources will report directly to the Administrative Systems Manager. MAP database handled more than $2 billion construction and maintenance job and project information and provides data services to many of the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) business units. There are more than 40 systems that interface with MAP database to complete transactions that involve job numbers and project creation and maintenance. The MAP senior database developer, will help to maintain data integrity, efficient tracking and processing of project data, to accuratly report the project information to federal and state agencies.
Skills Required
One (1) Application/Software Engineer: Application/Software Engineer capabilities with 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performs a variety of complicated tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, may report directly to a project lead or manager, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The resource needs strong Oracle PL/SQL development work experience writing procedure, packages and functions, The resource should also have relational database design experience, perform data analysis on enterprise DBMS and ensure data quality through development and testing practices and participate as database developer on critical projects as required.
Experience Required
Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications. Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Additional Requirements (highly desirable and high priority):
•Documented 8 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area” experience programming in the Oracle PL/SQL and Toad.
•Documented 8 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area”) experience designing logical and physical database model.
•Documented 8 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area”) experience writing oracle Package, procedures and functions.
•Documented 8 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area”) experience designing, creating and maintenance of oracle database objects •Documented 8 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area”) in normalizing database.
•Documented 8 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area”) in data analysis and management
•Documented 5 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area”) participating as a programmer/analyst in projects using CMM/CMMI Level 3 methods and practices.
