Application Support Associate
Overview

SIG is looking for a Trade Support Associate to be an integral part of our brokerage support team.  You will sit directly with institutional sales and trading to resolve time-sensitive day-to-day trading issues including: break/fix trades, position monitoring, FIX messaging issues and others.  This role will provide you with an opportunity to learn our business, while working on interesting technical projects. 

 

In this role, you will:

 

Coordinate, implement, deploy and support daily application and system level changesProvide daily operational support of our Institutional Brokerage Trading team including answering email, phone and IM issuesMonitor status and functionality of systems and applications; investigate, identify, and resolve user and application problems in a timely mannerCoordinate project activities with technical, operational and administrative groups; collect and communicate information among interdisciplinary teamsTest new software versions for business-level features and functionality Troubleshoot trading system issues by investigating client/server log filesWork closely with management to implement the policies and practices of the teamWork on and provide adhoc reports to trading and sales to help in analyzing business trendsWork with research team to make sure all published research reaches intended recipients
What we're looking for
Minimum of three years of experience supporting mission critical high availability systemsRequired Bachelor’s degree in an information technology discipline required; experience may substitute for educationKnowledge in equity trade lifecycle and trade flow required Knowledge of equity option trade lifecycle and trade flow a plusDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required, including proven experience in troubleshooting effectively in a fast-paced, time-critical environmentMust be motivated and a self-directed individual committed to providing a high level of customer serviceMust be a proven team-player with superior interpersonal, organizational, as well as oral and written communications skills required

Preferred Skills:

Experience on a trading floor supporting trading systems such as OMS/EMS platforms (such as Fidessa, Brass, etc)Experience setting up customer FIX connectivity and troubleshooting FIX issues a plusKnowledge of reporting, surveillance and compliance systems such as ACT, OATS, or TRACE a plusFamiliarity with Customer Relation Management tools such as iPreoComfortable with writing and running database queries in SQL
