Are you looking to join a fast-paced environment where you can put your technical skills to the test? SIG is looking for an Application Support Engineer to join our team at our Bala Cynwyd headquarters, just minutes from Center City Philadelphia.
There is not a typical day for this team. They handle all aspects of maintaining and supporting our Linux and Windows systems leveraged throughout the firm’s core businesses. When an issue arises, you will be responsible for quickly assessing the problem and determining a solution to prevent major impact to our business critical systems. By leveraging resources and working directly with the associated teams, you will be responsible for resolving these complex and time-sensitive issues. You will also have the opportunity to participate in firm-wide projects to test, evaluate and deploy the latest technologies into our environment, as well as take ownership of individual projects. This role offers the opportunity to gain broad-based experience across multiple technologies, including exposure to the latest, top of the line technologies. This will lend an opportunity for mobility both within the team and the firm.
In this role, you will:
Provide daily operational support of proprietary Linux and Windows applicationsTroubleshoot issues by investigating client/server log files across both Linux and Windows platformsSupport and execute daily application level changesDeploy new applications across our environment; resolve technical issues related to deployments and upgradesCollaborate with development, support and business teams on firm-wide projectsDevelop and leverage scripts to automate daily tasksWhat we're looking for
Minimum of three (3) years of application, production and/or server support experience requiredBasic Linux/Unix experience requiredKnowledge of basic networking principles requiredWindows knowledge a plusBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology preferredExperience with scripting preferred
