Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in Midland, Texas for an Application Support Engineer within the Energy/Natural Resources industry. The role involves ensuring the smooth operation of business applications and providing IT Help Desk support. The successful candidate will be tasked with designing, developing, and troubleshooting existing and new programs, and applications. Responsibilities: • Serving as the first point of contact for end-user support concerning IT issues related to computers, network, and printers • Collaborating with internal users on a project-by-project basis to define, develop, and document the business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications of applications • Developing and troubleshooting desktop applications using programming languages such as VB.net and C# • Assisting with the growth and development of Atlas, our in-house ERP system • Defining comprehensive project plans, including the scope, schedule, and implementation • Carrying out other duties as assigned in support of the business operations. Requirements • Applicant must have at least 1 year of experience in the role of an Application Support Engineer or a related field • Proficiency in Computer Hardware is necessary for this role • Strong skills in Visual Basic .Net (VB.NET) are required • Expertise in C Sharp Programming (C#) is a significant asset for this position • Familiarity with the Energy/Natural Resources industry is preferred • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred • Willingness to stay updated with the latest developments in the field of application support engineering Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
