13017BRJob Description:The Application Support Specialist provides excellent customer service through the use of customer support skills, business, and technical knowledge to triage, diagnose, troubleshoot, and escalate or resolve business application issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” Responsible Steel requirements are followed.
+ Responsible for monitoring and responding to open tickets submitted through an incident management system
+ Troubleshoot and resolve application issues
+ Troubleshoot and escalate alerts that cannot be resolved to appropriate section
+ Prioritize and manage service requests and incidents
+ Progress issues and provide relevant information for troubleshooting or for clarification
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to departmental initiatives
+ Responsible for improving and documenting the technical processes around application support (using Azure DevOps)
+ Work with System Stakeholders on change requests, managing issues and establishing priorities
+ Monitor and maintain performance of daily health checks for applications.
+ Install, configure, and administer applications
+ Develop scripts to automate repeatable manual tasks
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience in IT related field preferred.
+ 2+ years of experience in business facing Technical Support role.
+ Highly skilled in Windows OS.
+ The ability to work well independently or on a team.
+ Experience using Microsoft SQL and Oracle.
+ Excellent writing and communication skills.
+ Detail-oriented, with excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with business users.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to work in an office setting with occasional tasks in the mill, which could typically involve extreme environments from hot to cold. This position can require long hours, weekend, and holiday coverage to support routine responsibilities.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not supervise others.
