Application Support Specialist

The Application Support Specialist is responsible for supporting, managing, testing and the documentation for all applications related to the operations of the stores. The Application Support Specialist will also be an escalation point for the Field Team for those applications and will be required to test, log tickets and follow up with a solution. The Application Support Specialist will also be responsible for providing documentation and training to members of the Field Team on new features/changes and the installation process for those changes. This person will also be responsible for participating in code reviews, creating test plans and performing user acceptance testing on internally developed processes.

Responsibilities

Must be comfortable working in Linux & Windows environments.Troubleshoot software and application problems.Address customer support issues escalated from the Field Team/Help Desk, submit tickets to vendors, document resolution/release of vendor patches and share findings.Follow internal procedures which includes change management, incident management and problem escalation.Build and maintain an IT Operations documentation library for application testing and maintenance including UAT test plans.Remote store support and troubleshooting of store applications.Position will require participation in an on-call rotation period. This on-call period includes nights, weekends and holidays. The rotation time could change based on business needs.Position may require travel to different Rutter’s locations for software and or hardware installs, upgrades or troubleshooting issues. The travel could be during normal working hours, the evening or the weekends.Respond to phone calls, logged tickets, emails and texts in a timely and professional way both during regular working hours and while on-call.Communicate repetitive and ongoing problems to the appropriate management personnel.Works with vendors to test software changes prior to implementation.Create documentation and installation guides for software upgrades of new and existing applications as they are developed and implemented.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Preferred Education and Experience

Associates degree in Information Technology or Computer Technology is preferred Strong organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task and be self-motivated. 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, including writing UAT tests. Experience in scripting/programming languages (i.e., Python, PowerShell, Windows Batch, etc.) Basic SQL experience.
