Application Systems Analyst

This role is responsible for installing, upgrading, tuning and troubleshooting complex applications running on Linux or Windows with Cache, MySQL or SQL Server databases. Closely monitors trouble tickets to fix issues and work with developers to recommend long-term fixes. Helps collect compliance evidence for SOX and/or HIPAA audits. This role is 100% remote and can be performed from anywhere in the US. **_Responsibilities:_** + Installs, upgrades, tunes and troubleshoots complex applications running on Linux or Windows with Cache, MySQL or SQL Server databases. + Leads the identification, diagnoses and resolution of system and end-user problems to ensure adequate performance, scalability and capacity. Closely monitors trouble tickets to fix issues and work with developers to recommend long-term fixes. + Automates manual processes using Bash and/or Korn scripting skills + Creates or modifies existing ETL processes that move large amounts of data using tools like Kettle, DataStage or another like application. + Will reverse engineer complex data models on high transaction databases to extract data or troubleshoot data anomalies. + Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. + Ensures compliance with SOX processes and assists in the annual SOX audit. + Documents system architecture to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Regularly reviews documentation and makes revisions as necessary. + Configures monitoring tools to measure server activity. + Stays current with development trends in the technology industry; embraces continuous improvement and identifies opportunities to improve design, operation, and performance through new technologies. Attends trainings and conferences to stay abreast of new technologies. + Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs. + Liaises with vendor support on complex issues. + Trains and oversees work of less experienced staff, as required. + Performs additional duties and activities as required. **_Qualifications:_** + Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field required. + Four years’ experience managing and designing systems in an enterprise infrastructure environment required. + Expertise with Linux, working with IPTables, and basic commands like chown, chmod, sed, etc required. + Shell scripting experience required + Experience with ETL tools like Kettle is a plus + Should feel comfortable with relational design with high transaction databases + Experience with SQL; inner joins, outer joins, group by’s, sub queries etc. + Experience with Jira, Confluence, EasyVista or similar application preferred. + Experience with MySQL, SQL Server and Cache preferred. + Application experience with Apache, Tomcat and/or IIS **_Why Join Us?_** + Full compensation/benefits package for employees working over 30 hours/week + 401(k) with company match + Paid time off and holiday pay + Enjoy complex work that makes a difference in the lives of those we serve + Career development and advancement opportunities across a nationwide network Sevita is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care.
