BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the workload and staff associated with designing, developing and testing business applications software, establishing and maintain effective working relationships with external software vendors and automated interface to and from those vendor software systems.

 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs development teams in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, future planning and standard development practices. Coordinates business analysis, system analysis and application development activities through direct and indirect staff including offshore. Work with business community to develop a vision for the future, understand the gap to get there and utilize this information to then identify and assist in the prioritization of opportunities for improvement. Develop scalable solutions that fit our current environment, not losing sight of the planned future growth requirements. Ensure daily support issues are addressed with urgency and resolutions are meant to solve the root cause of the problem(s). Meets scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner. Develop bench strength within your team and develop successors. Possesses in-depth knowledge of the principles, theories, practices and techniques for managing the activities related to planning, managing and implementing systems analysis and applications development projects and programs. Performs all duties inherent in the role of an MSC Manager as defined by the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, termination, review and development of associates. Drives the culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of vision and fulfillment of MSC’s mission. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

 

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or 5 years equivalent experience is required. 7 years of application delivery experience including managing teams in systems analysis, business analysis, systems architecture, and programming functions. Minimum of two years experience managing associates is required. PMP certification or equivalent preferred.

 

 

SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communications skills required. Excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills are required. Ability to interface and build relationships with the user community is required. Good presentation skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. Solid understanding of IT industry (vendors, systems, products, etc) required. Ability to integrate and implement complex software solutions including third-party packaged applications.

 

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel up to 10-15% of the time is required. This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).
