The Role
As an Applications Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be key in the extension to new services and network elements, and the implementation of new capability.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll provide expertise to the team creating a Network Management System for the communications network and assist in development and deployment of the architecture to modernise and enhance the associated network segment.

Working within a team to develop a new management system by integrating Commercial-Off-The-Shelf packages. Developing user workflows maintenance regimes and supporting hardware. Providing maintenance and evergreen support for the system once in service. Managing system changes using the engineering lifecycle as new functionalities are required over time.


This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires travel to Corsham, Wiltshire and Oakhanger, Hampshire typically 2 days a week basis alongside home working arrangements.

 

Essential Experience of the Applications Engineer

Technical expertise as a lead application architect in the design, operation, and support of telecommunications network management systems. Experience with middleware, bespoke orchestration layers, Application Programming interface and automation techniques. Policy and Charging Rules Function expertise inc. Quality of Service and Quality of Service Class Identifier controls. Knowledge of Windows Server Active Directory, Linux, UNIX, VMWARE ESX, VCenter. Detailed understanding of Internet Protocol communications layer. Software scripting and debugging expertise would be an advantage.


Qualifications for the Applications Engineer 

Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant Engineering Discipline.
