Job Title - Application Engineer
Describe the purpose of the job
Key requirement of this this job is to provide CPP (cost per part), runoff support and application support to turn-key projects at customer site, document established process and parameters and share the same with Engineering service group and respective regional team, share success cases, set up CPP
Key Job Responsibilities
• Provide Run-off application support to Turn-Key Projects for both KMT & WID Brands.
• To grow the KIL share by continuously supporting the project run-off activities @ various customer locations.
• To grow the KIL share by continuously supporting CPP activities @ various customer locations.
• Understand customer requirement, line study, provide proposals on CPP, support field team in proving the proposed.
• Work closely with customers and prove the project as per cycle time commitment, tool life and CPC proposed.
• Conclude CPP, runoff projects, sign off with customer (MOM) and regional sales team.
• Maintain project documents and share unique success case studies with ESG (engineering solutions group) and Field team.
• Should be willing to travel to customers in various geographic locations for conclusion of turnkey projects.
In addition to the above, other activities include.
• Explore business opportunities for running CPP programs along with sales.
• Initiate productivity improvements projects with customer
• Should provide application support to field team when required.
Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates
• Candidate should have minimum 5 to 10 yrs of experience either in Cutting tool sales / application function or in Process engineering / Process design function.
Machine shop production experience will be an added advantage
• Should have sound knowledge of cutting tool applications, (Turning, Milling, Hole making, Hole finishing) along with hands on application knowledge of guide pad reamers.
Should have sound knowledge on Machining fundamentals, Process design, Process re-engineering, fundamentals of fixturing, etc.,
• Should be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings.
• Knowledge on process capability (Cp, CpK) will be an advantage
• Working exposure, use of Microsoft office application (word, excel, Power point…)
• Should be able to trouble shoot tool performance and related issues.
• Should have experience in providing tool proposals.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM will be an advantage
• Self-motivated and be able to handle projects independently with least assistance.
• Hands on expertise in CNC programming.
• Communication skill with good command in English (oral & Verbal) is preferred for this position
