Job Description

We are seeking an Applications Food Scientist to develop technical expertise and leadership to support internal and external customers. This role involves learning our products, standard demonstrations, and applications directory while following all company SOPs and GMPs. The ideal candidate will complete assignments by due dates, communicate clear and correct results, and perform daily bench top duties.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop technical expertise and leadership to support internal and external customers.Learn and utilize BBI products, standard demos, and Applications Directory.Follow all company SOPs and GMPs.Complete assignments by due dates and communicate clear and correct results.Perform daily bench top duties.Document and record detailed project results, including products utilized, dates, number of trials, results, and provide a monthly synopsis of projects.Assist and participate in weekly tastings and document all findings.Create accurate batch sheets for review.Proactively create and maintain a clean and safe working environment.Assist in introductory presentations, open houses, and training seminars for customers, brokers, and distributors.Accompany Applications team members during domestic travel as needed.Essential SkillsExpertise in biology, titration, quality control, pH testing, microbiology, and food science.Experience in quality assurance and inspection.Technical experience in the Applications industry.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Strong problem-solving skills.Accountability and responsibility for actions.Commitment to customer satisfaction and teamwork within a collaborative environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree in food science or a related field of study.Demonstrated track record of accomplishments in the Applications industry.Work Environment

The work schedule is the 1st shift from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The Applications Food Scientist works under the guidance of the Applications Manager to understand our products, usage, and application development. This role involves creating new formulations to showcase ingredients and support sales divisions, customers, brokers, and distributors. The position operates within FDA, FSMA, and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) requirements, ensuring food safety standards are met in the plant and offices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.08
