The Role
Job Title: Applications Specialist – Water Treatment (Pulp & Paper)
Location: Based in Central & Southern Europe, with preference for candidates located in France and nearby Eastern European countries.
We are seeking an experienced Applications Specialist (Water Treatment) to join our dynamic team and support our Pulp & Paper division across the EMEA region. As a key technical expert, you will collaborate with local sales teams to provide field support, solve complex challenges, and introduce cutting-edge solutions in wastewater treatment. You will also play a pivotal role in launching new technologies and developing training programs for our sales force.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise to Pulp & Paper sales teams, conducting on-site audits, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing customer systems.
Partner with sales teams to explore new business opportunities, supporting trials and industrial testing at customer sites.
Lead the introduction of innovative technologies, offering feedback on applied solutions and supporting product launches.
Develop and deliver engaging technical training to empower sales teams with up-to-date knowledge.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and enhance existing technologies.
Prepare compelling case studies to demonstrate the economic and environmental benefits delivered to customers.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including data sheets, optimization reports, and tools.
Travel regularly (60-70%) within your assigned region to provide on-site support to customers.
The Ideal Candidate:
A degree in Chemical Engineering, Master’s in Chemistry (with a focus on water treatment), or a similar qualification.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial water treatment, particularly in boiler, cooling, and industrial wastewater treatment (coagulants, flocculants, bio-augmentation, anti-foams).
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly demonstrate the value of water treatment solutions to customers.
Prior experience working in or alongside sales teams in a technical role is a plus.
Proficiency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
