Description Are you an Applications Support Business Analyst serving as a liaison between multiple business units and technology teams to solve issues, find root causes, define processes and implement improvements and functionalities? We are seeking an Application Support Business Analyst with experience in requirements gathering, technical troubleshooting, and product implementation. You will be expected to engage with both technical and functional team members to implement, support and develop enterprise software applications. As an Applications Support Business Analyst, in the Information Technology Services Department, you will… Work closely with Human Resources, IT, and other stakeholders to conduct and document functional analysis and build detailed business and functional requirements. Build business process workflows and data diagrams; analyze and suggest improvements, and participate in design reviews to ensure solutions meet user requirements. Analyze, document and define solutions to production issues; support the day-to-day operations, determine appropriate escalation methods and effectively communicate. Provide direct support and training to customers and end users, enhancing their knowledge and capabilities and maximize use of the tools. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and cross-functionally with multi-functional teams and handle multiple priorities. Assist business customers with testing of system changes to ensure quality and stability. Assist project leadership by mapping out development plans, refining requirements and scope, and proactively communicating status updates to business leaders, stakeholders, and users. Have a BS degree in Information Systems, Business and Technology Management or related field. 2+ years of experience in application support, IT help desk, technical business analysis, or a similar role. Are thorough with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Have experience in various stages of the Software Development Process. Have strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team. Are proficient in Microsoft operating system and Office Suite of applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio). You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you... Have experience handling small projects independently. Familiarity with or a strong willingness to learn programming languages such as SQL, Java, and .NET development. Possess relevant training or certifications, such as ITSM, ITIL, HDI, PMP, or similar industry-recognized credentials. Experience with ServiceNow or other IT ticketing system(s). Knowledge of Articulate content development tools. Have worked with Human Resources Information Systems such as: Workday – Human Capital Management (HCM) SABA (Cornerstone) or other Learning Management Systems Why work at APL? The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
