Systems Analyst
The Applications Systems Analyst will be required to support the implementation and maintenance of systems within the Applications Services team. More specifically, supporting campus technologies for the following groups: University Advancement, Facilities, BCPD/Public Safety, Auxiliary Services, Athletics, and Campus Recreation. Additionally, the team supports the university’s Enterprise Document Management system, and other university departments as needed. The position will report to an Applications Manager and be part of multiple technical teams chartered to deliver complex applications in support of the University's business needs. The position will be responsible for working on all aspects of the project lifecycle including analysis, design, installation, requirements development, integration, documentation, testing, and delivery. This is a hybrid onsite/remote position.
Specific responsibilities include:
Gathering business and functional requirements through client engagements
Documenting workflows and business processes
Performing complex data analysis tasks
Preparing test plans & scripts and executing test cases
Conducting user training and developing training materials
Providing system support and troubleshooting
Work closely with customers and the implementation team to deliver successful implementations
Support for University Advancement systems
Support for Facility Management systems
Support for Boston College Police Department/Public Safety systems
Support for Auxiliary Services systems
Support for Athletics and Campus Recreation systems
Support for Document Management system
Support for other university departments as needed
Systems Administration
Project Management
Participates in team and stakeholder meetings to discuss project updates, activities and issues
Respond to issues in a timely manner, including for critical issues during off-hours
Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges:
Associate Applications Systems Analyst- range: 75k – 92K:
Minimum of one year of professional IT experience or 1-3 years as a non-exempt employee working in an IT environment.
Applications Systems Analyst - range: 92K –112K:
Minimum 3 years of experience to include applications development or business systems analysis.
Senior Systems Analyst - range: 112k to 130K:
Minimum 5 years of experience to include applications development or business systems analysis.
**Requirements**
Requires:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant discipline is a plus
- Strong documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated verbal, writing, and presentation skills
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
- Familiarity with web application architecture
- Familiarity with Windows based infrastructure
- Experience in implementation, development, support or administration of vendor systems
- Experience in implementation, development, support or administration of custom applications
- Client or customer-oriented experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or other BI tools is a plus
