Scope of Position

In this role as an applied electrical imaging engineer, you will support the design, analysis, and manufacturing of world-class, high-precision electro-optical assemblies. This is a dynamic position for an individual to work as part of Corning Advanced Optics’ Aerospace and Defense engineering team to develop custom precision electro-optical systems based on Keene’s world-class precision machining core competency.  This is an exciting location with complete in-house design engineering, fabrication, and testing disciplines.  Primary duties include the design, assembly, integration, and test of electro-optical assemblies. Developing and defining the processes and procedures required and training other engineers and operators to these processes.

Required Qualifications BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Software, Physics, or similar 2+ years of direct work experience in relevant field, may be university level. Understanding of electronic architectures of optical imaging systems. Ability to translate customer requirements into design specifications for electronic PCBs and electronic architectures. Hands-on experience debugging electrical systems at the system and component level. Ability to create. read and interpret electrical technical drawings, interconnect diagrams, and system elementaries. Experience with typical electrical instrumentation (oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering equipment, etc.)  Desired Qualifications Experience in electronic verification testing of E/O imaging sensors. Knowledge of optical spectroscopy, image collection, and hyperspectral imaging  Confidence in interaction with all levels of the organization. (Production techs to Sr. Leadership) Ability to function on a product development team of multi-disciplinary engineers. Basic understanding of geometrical optics Experience with LabVIEW Working knowledge of electrical modeling platforms such as Spice.

The range for this position is  $84,281.00   -  $115,887.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
