The Appointed Person plays a crucial role in ensuring safe lifting operations on construction sites. As the Appointed Person, you will be responsible for ensuring all construction activities requiring lifting operations are identified, and suitable lifting plans are created and approved to allow the safe execution of the required work. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of a large-scale mechanical project, ensuring the efficiency and safety of all lifting activities taking place on site. As an Appointed Person, your activities will include the following, but are not limited to: + Identify any planned work requiring lifting activities is identified in good time + Collaborate with project / construction managers, engineers, and site supervision to plan and schedule the lifting activities in time to allow the planned works to be executed on time + Ensure all personnel involved in lifting operations are competent, adequately trained and certified for their respective roles + Create lift plans and risk assessments for all categorised lifts + Ensure all lifting operations comply with relevant standards, regulations and project specifications + Identify potential risks and issues associated with lifting operations, and proactively address them to avoid delays or safety concerns + Ensure an inspection regime of lifting equipment is in place + Maintain a Lifting Equipment Register + Ensure that the Work Pack Manager is kept informed of any lift plans as appropriate + Attend Daily Coordination meetings and any other meetings as required Experience & Qualifications + Experience in construction, or maintenance, with at least 2 years with AP duties + ECITB Appointed Person Moving Loads + CPCS A61 Appointed Persons Lifting Operations + NVQ Level 3 Moving Loads + Good communication skills required + Good interpersonal skills required as part of a large project team + Suitable IT skills – MS Office, Navis Works 2024 + Self motivated to achieve client deadlines If you wish to speak to a member of the recruitment team, please contact 01224 246246.
