SUMMARY OF THE ROLE Apprentice EMD Mechanic Working at Rosharon, Texas (travel required to various states) Mammoet USA is seeking a driven, enthusiastic Apprentice to join our team. In this role, you’ll work on various mechanical and hydraulic maintenance tasks, assist in equipment preparation, and have opportunities to participate in complex development and rebuild projects under the guidance of a Senior Mechanic or Supervisor. Responsibilities include learning and developing practical skills, attending on- and off-site classes and workshops, following all health and safety regulations, and completing tests and assignments related to your work. Ideal candidates are well-organized, flexible, and eager to assist wherever needed. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Ensuring the condition of equipment is in line with the applicable standards and instructions Performing all-round maintenance and repair services Carrying out work to a high quality, including inspection, prevention, renovation and modification Completing new-build projects when required Working on different types of mechanical (auxiliary) equipment related to diverse power transmission systems Perform maintenance and equipment preparation tasks focused on mechanical and hydraulic systems under close supervision. Attend college workshops and maximize learning opportunities in the workplace. Assist in the workshop and yard, gaining exposure to other areas of the company. Follow all health and safety procedures. Complete all required tests, presentations, and evaluations. Work in the office/workshop and travel to other sites as needed. Accept feedback constructively. Attend meetings, observe actions, and offer improvement suggestions. Maintain a detailed log of learning experiences. Build professional relationships with colleagues and clients. Undertake additional duties compatible with your role and learning as needed. WHAT YOU’LL NEED Experience in maintenance operations, driver and control, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems.
