The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

Manage one or more Applications Development teams in an effort to accomplish established goals as well as conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applicationsReview and analyze proposed technical solutions for projectsContribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areasDevelop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goalsProvide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situationsImpact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/projectEnsure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards negotiating with external parties when necessaryAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industryExperience as Applications Development ManagerExperience as senior level in an Applications Development roleStakeholder and people management experienceDemonstrated leadership skillsProven project management skillsBasic knowledge of industry practices and standardsConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMaster’s degree preferred

Lead the Global Positions Team in building Strategic solutions for Finance Desk Regulatory and Business Initiatives.Hands on development capability expected ensuring high code quality and scope expectations are met.Integrate with CI/CD and Test automation tools.Architectural requirements and Document technical designs of software deliverables.Adopt Cloud computing solutions for Real-time Application needs.Business Analysts, Developers and Manage Business Expectations.Work closely with partner technology teams and to collaborate effectively.

Technical Skills Required:

10 years’ experience with Java and Spring Boot based Micro-services development.3 years’ experience with Caching solutions like Apache Ignite, Redis or similar is desirable.2 years’ experience with middle layer messaging services like JMS, MQ, EMS or Kafka.Strong at RDBMS concepts and experience with Oracle, Sybase or MS SQL.Experience with Apache Flink Platform and FIX protocol knowledge is a huge plus.Cloud experience with Micro Services and Containerization is a big plus.Test driven development and to adhere with firm’s min development standards.Experience with CI/CD tools to help drive productivity.Experience with Unix or Linux scripting.

Non-Technical Skills Required:

Prior experience working with Capital markets Repo processing and Triparty Funding is necessary.Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and Influencing skills.Project, Resource and Cost Management Experience.Ability to take initiatives, manage user expectations, drive strategy and work under pressure.
