Description:We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess a diverse skill set to provide comprehensive medical services including advanced experience with the neurological conditions and diseases.Performs comprehensive and interval history and physical exams of patients with acute and chronic neurological problems.Identifies differential diagnoses, assesses the severity of the patient's illness and establishes priorities of care for the presenting problemAssists in the development of a treatment plan and appropriate follow up careCommunicates pertinent patient information to the covering physicianEducates the patient about the diagnosis and treatment planOrders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testsObtains informed consent for all proceduresExercises prescriptive authority as outlined in Florida statutesDocuments patient visit appropriately in the electronic medical record (EMR) and/or according to the guidelines established by each individual location in which the care is providedMaintains patient confidentiality per HIPPA requirementsKeeps current on new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or other training and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrated record of consistently achieving clinical performance metrics in current roleStrong Critical Thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsTime management skills with the ability to work well under pressureMust be caring and empathetic and have great listening skillsMust be detail-oriented, and able to pay close attention to patient charts, medications, and follow-up on details of patient care

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

Current Nurse Practitioner Certification in the State of practice requiredBoard certification by AANP or ANCC is preferred but may be required for certain StatesCurrent DEA number from the DEA for schedule II-V controlled substances may be required based on State of practiceA minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience preferredBasic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AMA) or American Red Cross required
