JOB SUMMARY\n

This position is responsible for assisting in the programs of the City of Conroe Aquatic Center, Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center, Westside Recreation Center and other identified aquatic programming locations. Specific duties include general support of all aquatic operations, programming, record maintenance and community outreach. Customer service, a variety of certifications and administrative skills are essential. \n

QUALIFICATIONS\n

Education and Experience:\n\nHigh school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred.\nOne year of related experience required; multiple years of related experience preferred.\n\n

Special Requirements:\n\nCurrent Texas class \"C\" driver's license.\nCurrent American Red Cross certifications- Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Lifeguarding (LG), CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid Instructor, AED, and Oxygen Administration required or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire date.\nCertified as an Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) instructor or other national certification equivalent, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire date.\nCertified as an Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or willingness to obtain within one year of the hire date.\nMust comply with City of Conroe direct deposit payroll policy.\n\n

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: \n\nAbility to interact directly with the public utilizing excellent communication and customer service skills.\nKnowledge of and ability to follow City policies and procedures.\nAbility to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Outlook.\nAbility to learn and use applicable web-based programs such as, but not limited to Active Net, Encode, Workforce, CANVA and Zoom.\nAbility to assist and lead in the planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating existing programs and events; create and propose new programs and events.\nAbility to attend training, seminars and workshops as recommended by the supervisor.\nAbility to verbally communicate and write emails and reports proficiently in English; ability to speak Spanish is preferred.\nAbility to sit, stand and kneel for long periods.\nAbility to lift weights up to 50 pounds.\n\n

PHYSICAL DEMANDS\n

Generally, the work is light. The following abilities are required: climbing, crouching, fingering, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, talking, visual and mental acuity, walking and swimming.\n
