Aquatics Lead - Headguard

Position Summary

Responsible for the efficient operation of assigned area of responsibility, including, but not limited to, performing safety checks, responding to aquatic rescues and managing daily labor.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

· Maintain a current Ellis and Associates Special Facilities Lifeguard license.

· Adhere to all Ellis and Associates and Hurricane Harbor aquatic standards, including regularly attending in-service trainings.

· Responsible for the direct supervision of assigned area, including, but not limited to, general Lifeguard supervision, attraction operation compliance, and, aquatic safety.

· Within assigned area, respond to all aquatic rescues and events that interrupt the aquatic environment or compromise the safety of any person.

· Assign and document all breaks and lunches of employees. Document all tardiness and absenteeism of lifeguards as mandated by Hurricane Harbor policies.

· Ensure that Lifeguard rotate positions hourly and maintain records of rotation.

· Perform daily aquatic attraction and equipment safety checks.

· Perform Lifeguard shifts as needed.

· Coordinate nightly clean-up procedures in area, including, but not limited to, returning tubes to Tube Rentals and trash pick-up.

· Must ensure that all lifeguards adhere to the professional, knowledge and skill standards set forth by Ellis and Associates and Hurricane Harbor.

· Assist Guest’s with questions and concerns.

· Must maintain cleanliness and organization for all work areas; must maintain all equipment in a "like new" condition.

· Responsible for enforcing all Six Flags America and Maryland state labor rules and laws, particularly noting those pertaining to minor over-time.

· Must ensure that all employees comply with all Six Flags America rules, regulations, policies and safety standards; report any violations.

· Must maintain professional, productive and efficient working relationships with all Hurricane Harbor employees.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting Structure

· Reports directly to the Aquatics Supervisors.

Skills and Qualifications

· Must be at least 16 years of age.

· Physical mobility--the ability to move in different work stations, hand and arm movement.

· Must possess the ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.

· For safety purposes, the individual must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.

· Good analytical problem solving skills.

· Previous Aquatics experience is preferred.

· Must be able to communicate and effectively work with others.

· Must be able to work in a team environment.

· Be available to work flexible hours at nights, weekends, and holidays as the business dictates
