Job Overview: Responsible for the safe and efficient management of aquatic operations and programs,maintenance and upkeep of the swimming pool facility, and supervision of Lifeguards, Waterpark Attendants
and Supervisors. Manages day to day operation of the waterpark when assigned as the Aquatics MOD. Follows and enforces established park and Associate rules, regulations and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to
include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Management of Associates:
● Responsible leadership of staff members, including; recruiting, hiring, training, and maintaining
appropriate staffing levels for the department.
● Conduct classes, training and in service training for Aquatics staff.
● Develop, implement, and monitor programming and schedules for waterpark operation. Anticipates
turnover to maintain proper staffing levels.
● Interfaces with the Human Resources department to communicate staffing needs and assist in the hiring
process utilizing HR procedures.
● Permits and encourages advancement for those Associates qualified and interested in career
development.
● Clearly describe and assign responsibility and authority for the operation of the department.
● Works to maintain an efficient, cooperative atmosphere among Associates.
● Ensure all lifeguard certifications are current and all lifeguards.
● Direct the implementation of department policies and procedures.
● Monitors and tracks departmental staff hours to ensure payroll is correct.
● Conduct in-depth analysis, planning, and implementation of utilization data and other inputs.
● Participates in the Manager-On-Duty (MOD) program and executes duties.
● Attends departmental staff meetings and any other meetings as assigned.
● Assists with Development of detailed, realistic and comprehensive plans that support organizational objectives.
● Implements strategic cleaning plans for power washing and other tasks as assigned.
● Practices management by walking around to ensure proper procedural practices and service guidelines
are compliant in all aspects of the operation.
● Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers, using tact and diplomacy to defuse
anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflict.
● Perform supervisory tasks of a team, including resolving conflict, coaching and developing others,
promoting teamwork, and performance management.
Required Qualifications:
● High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
● Ellis & Associates ILTP Instructor (must be obtained if hired)
● 2+ years of Aquatics leadership experience as well as carry out supervisory responsibilities in
accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
● Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent (must be obtained if hired)
● Must have full time availability that would require but not limited to working late nights, weekends and
holidays.
● Projects a positive public relations image to staff and guests.
● Ability to inspire and motivate team members to work together and exceed expectations.
● Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
● Successful completion of criminal background check.
