The Digital Engineering Center is a transformation Group within the Engineering Division (Division 7). Division 7 works in partnership with the other Laboratory technical divisions to design and build advanced technology systems of national importance. The Division’s expertise includes mechanical, materials, aero, thermal, optical, control, and fabrication engineering plus autonomous systems. Supporting the engineering efforts are a wide range of specialized laboratories, electronics and mechanical fabrication capabilities, plus integration and environmental test facilities. Special emphasis is placed on the integration of design and analysis capabilities to support the rapid prototyping of hardware systems.
Position Description
The Digital Engineering Center is currently seeking We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ARAS PLM Support Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing our ARAS PLM system, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, resolving system issues, and implementing improvements to meet the organization's evolving needs.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for ARAS PLM-related inquiries and technical issues. Provide technical support to end-users, addressing issues related to general usage. Create and update user manuals, technical documentation, and training materials. Train users in proper utilization of the Aras PLM platform. Monitor performance, logs, and database health to identify and resolve issues proactively. Create and maintain custom forms, dashboards, and reports using Aras Innovator tools. Develop and implement custom scripts using JavaScript, XML, or AML for automation and enhancements. Develop bug fixes and general light configuration of system Diagnose and resolve issues related to system performance, configuration, and functionality. Work with internal teams and/or Aras support to resolve complex issues or bugs. Document user change requests. Propose and implement improvements or automations to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. Provide timely and effective troubleshooting and resolution of system issues, escalating to advanced support or vendors when necessary.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5-10 years of technical experience and 2+ with Aras Strong understanding of the Aras Innovator PLM platform architecture and functionalities. Knowledge of SQL Server or other database systems used with Aras (e.g., installation, queries, backups, and optimizations). Familiarity with XML, AML (Aras Markup Language), and JavaScript for scripting and customizations. Familiarity with integration tools and techniques, such as APIs and middleware. Understanding of enterprise PLM workflows and change management processes. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot system issues, including performance tuning. Skills in monitoring system logs and tracking errors or anomalies. Strong communication skills for working with end-users and stakeholders. Excellent documentation skills for creating user guides and technical documentation
