Your Role
As an Architect in Gensler’s dynamic Miami office you will collaborate with your teammates to develop design solutions, as well as coordinate design through the construction documentation and construction administration phases of core and shell and interior architecture projects. You will be successful because you already know how to translate sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. What You Will Do
Lead collaborative efforts within a team environment, partnering with interdisciplinary teams on diverse project typesDrive the project lifecycle by overseeing all phases, including programming, strategy development, client engagement, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, consultant coordination, and management of budgets and schedulesCoordinate and manage cross-functional teams, including design teams, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and vendors, to achieve key project milestones and deliverablesLead the production of graphic presentations, and oversee the development of detailed construction drawingsGuide the production of plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections essential for construction executionIn partnership with Project Management, provide leadership and technical direction throughout all phases of project execution, ensuring high-quality documentation and supportCommunicate design concepts and strategies effectively to project teams and stakeholdersIn partnership with Project Management, manage client expectations, enhance team communication, and ensure seamless coordination with consultants to maintain project alignmentCultivate and maintain long-term, productive client relationships, serving as a trusted advisorFoster collaboration and synergy with design and professional staff to maximize team performanceChampion Gensler’s diversity and inclusion goals with respect to staff, partners, and consultantsYour Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture required from an accredited program10+ years of experience as an Architect/Designer/Technical Designer/Intern Architect/Job Captain – ideally with some experience designing within the Hospitality Practice Area (hotels, amenity spaces, resorts, lounges, restaurants, etc.)Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3D, including Enscape, VRay, Grasshopper, Rhino and other visualization softwareGround up building architectural experience and/ or Interior architectural experience (ideally both!)Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideasStrong Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; SPEXX a plusFlexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of developmentStrong conceptual thinkerClose attention to detail and technical abilitiesHighly capable in communicating design ideas and direction effectively and quicklyA quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environmentStrong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skillsHand rendering skills to communicate design concepts are a plusLicensed / Registered Architect (If you are in the process of taking exams, feel free to contact Stacie_Smith@gensler.com to discuss a similar role.)LEED accreditation is a plusDemonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interviewPlease include a portfolio for full consideration.
