Primary Responsibilities:
Work closely with stakeholders, including business analysts and senior architects, to design and deliver technical solutions that meet business needs Develop comprehensive solution architecture blueprints and technical designs for complex systems and applications Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions Translate business requirements into detailed, actionable technical specifications and architecture documents Design integration strategies and solutions between applications, systems, and third-party services Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards Assist in the evaluation of new technologies, tools, and platforms that can enhance solution performance and business outcomes. Analyze and optimize system performance, scalability, and security Review and validate solution designs, ensuring they align with organizational standards and best practices Conduct technical risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies for project-related challenges Collaborate with project management teams to ensure timely delivery and successful implementation of solutions Support the development of Proof of Concepts (POCs) and prototypes to validate design approaches and technologies Maintain up-to-date documentation of architecture, solutions, and implementation processes Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, system design, or software development Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale applications and systems Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and application integration technologies Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and architectural design principles Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, or similar) Familiarity with microservices architecture, APIs, and RESTful web services Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools Ability to assess trade-offs between different technologies and design options Solid problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues Proven excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across various teams Ability to create technical documentation and presentations for non-technical stakeholdersPreferred Qualifications:
Certifications in relevant technologies or cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.) Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) Knowledge of security best practices in system architecture and design Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams This role is ideal for someone with solid experience in solution architecture who is ready to take on a more independent, hands-on technical leadership role within a project or teamAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
