About the role
As the Architectural Design Manager, Restaurant Development & Programming, you are a critical team member involved in growing and designing our restaurants across the Tri-state area. With an ambitious strategy and active development pipeline, this person will be an integral member of the Development Team.
This role will focus on New Store Design, Real Estate Development, Material Standards, Shop Drawings, Template Management, Refining Current Designs and Retrofits to open sites. This is a design forward role - with a strong emphasis on project management, new concept development and quick-moving changes. This role reports to the Associate Director, Restaurant Development.
Responsibilities:
Design Development
Work with Architecture firms on store layout and flows Ensure stores have a cohesive design POV through consistent materials, design standards and consistent programming Work closely with Architecture firms and sign vendor for exterior standards & guidelines Ensure changes and design lessons-learned have been properly captured and incorporated into future sets Continuous improvement of store design, layout efficiency and material choice with an emphasis on program-wide rollout Trade representative for Wonder with design-related vendors. Focus on continual cost-cutting measures Custodian on Wonder brand standards in a physical spaceTemplate Management
Manage the BIM 360/Revit Template. Update files as necessary, publish and communicate to all parties. Ensure all designers are using the most recent model Work with Engineer to ensure MEP templates match Architectural drawing sets Support with test fits and putting together standard dimensions for Real Estate teamThe experience you have
Experience
Architectural/Interior Design background to support FOH design and implementation Familiarity with the restaurant & hospitality industry Project management experience handling multiple workstreams Fluent in design and drafting software [CAD, Revit, Rhino, Bluebeam Photoshop, et al] Critical reasoning and strong execution skills Minimum of 4-5 years in a design-based role focusing on commercial designNice to have
Construction, development or opening experience Previous experience at with rapid growth and/or startup experience Developed or launched new products and processes through systematic rollout Knowledge of restaurant functionality, space planning, and equipment (FF&E)The way you work
You have a strong eye for detail, able to identify market-trends and translate those to Wonder standards You are comfortable working in the gray-zone and making strong [design] decisions based off minimal feedback You are a problem solver, able to make decisions in the field and communicate those actions concisely You are a logical and critical thinker with a strong mind for logistics You have strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously You solve problems and make decisions informed by data, technology trends, insights, and good judgementBenefits

Base Salary Range: $122k
