Corgan is actively recruiting an experienced, registered Project Design Manager to join the firm as part of our Aviation market sector. The Project Design Manager will work under the direction of the Studio and Sector Design Directors to set expectations, lead the design process and challenge the project team to deliver exceptional and relevant innovative design solutions. This role will collaborate with other designers and managers in the studio to maintain the firm design principles. This role will lead the development of effective and innovative designs utilizing the firms design approach and innovation tools.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

Promotes design excellence throughout the projects in the studioImplements the firms design process and encourage the use of available innovation tools to achieve the firms design and brand objectivesWorks with PIC/ Studio Design Director to augment the project team throughout the project life being available beyond design for CD design intent interpretations and solutions as well as CA troubleshootingPresents designs to clients, works to develop and maintain presentation skillsIs an industry expert in major building systems and conveys this knowledge to the teamIs an expert on code implications and requirements for several major building/occupancy typesOversees the work of the Project DesignersDemonstrates knowledge of resources and materials and their applicationDirects the production of design materials that meet project objectives, including functional concepts, images, schedules and budgetsCultivates success through high level design and planning, facility requirements analysis, conceptual design and systems integration and teamworkTakes responsibility for ensuring codes, regulations and industry standards are applied correctlyPossesses excellent programming and strategic planning skillsPromotes technical and professional excellence throughout the teamMaintains knowledge regarding industry trends, professional practice, regulatory and construction practice and issuesRecognizes needs and seeks out solutions for use of new technologies relating to project production and communicationsMentors and provides guidance to project team to achieve objectivesMentors team members and supports individual development by providing coaching, feedback and reinforcementBuilds the firm’s practice by inspiring and motivating Project Designers Qualifications

To be eligible for the Project Design Manager position an individual must have the following:

 

Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design10+ years in the Architectural design industry with a built and published track record of exceptional design work in at least one or more of Corgan’s market sectors/areas of practiceFamiliarity with current global design trends in one or more of Corgan’s sectorsA track record of public speaking in their area of expertiseHave a demonstrated track record of consistently creating (and leading teams doing) high quality work.Pursues design awards and publications of work for which they were primary playersDemonstrated leaders, collaborators and mentors within their respective studioOngoing participation in outside design activities, groups, etc.Candidates will have a track record of successful sustainable design methods and a long standing use and familiarity with AIA’s 2030 DDX.Proficient with Revit, Word, Excel and other graphics-related programsExperience with design and implementation, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp or other 3-D modeling programs is preferred

Base Salary Range: $120,000- $150,000 annually – Los Angeles locations only 


The estimate range represents the general base salary range of candidates hired in CA locations only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. In addition, base salary is not inclusive of total compensation.
