Job Description
As a Designer 2, you will need to make an immediate impact on our team and workload. You will work through Revit and Sketchup software to move projects through each phase of architecture. The focus will be on large-scale public infrastructure, specifically on water and wastewater plants, commercial, public works, and civic projects. Initially, your energy will be directed toward workload management, transitioning to more business development responsibilities after the project pipeline eases.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop professional work skills, knowledge, and abilities in various design and technical areas.Apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out a series of related tasks.Exercise limited independent judgment for tasks completed through experience on related projects.Work from the design of others and provide design assistance for specific aspects of a project.Understand and utilize technology to produce documents and drawings to support project design.Assist with coordination with A/E consultants for specific aspects of the project.Support programming/planning requirements of a project.Develop design solutions for specific aspects of a project.Develop technical documents for permit submission.Assist in construction administration and post-occupancy data collection if intended for the project.Perform tasks as directed by the supervisor on how to approach and complete assignments.Provide direction to others involved in the tasks undertaken.Share technical knowledge and skills learned with others.Attend selected professional organization meetings and/or events.Perform high-quality technical work, leading to repeat business.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of experience moving projects through each phase via Revit model.Experience in water/wastewater, public infrastructure, commercial mixed-use, and civic work.Combined 4 years of production work in the aforementioned areas.Proficiency in Revit and Sketchup software.Strong communication skills for effectively communicating plans and drawings to the team.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of Sketchup navigation.Pursuit of license is a plus.Experience in production and client interaction.Work Environment
Currently, we operate on a hybrid schedule, with 2 days in the office (Tuesday and Thursday) and 3 days working from home (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). We are focused on teamwork and communication. You will be part of an infrastructure team of about 15 people, helping to move projects forward. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.54 - $40.86/hr.
