The Architectural Designer is directly involved in the design phases of all Rural King projects.  This includes but is not limited to corporate design, store layouts, and assistance with preparing bid packages for the construction team.  The Project Architect will constantly look for ways to improve design flow and value engineering to maximize profitability, ensuring the field teams are provided with tools to successfully complete projects.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manage the design of the new store support center and surrounding structuresSupport the design and development of new store layouts Analyze building methods to determine viability for future RKR projectsAssist with LOD’s and tenant improvement documents and ensure plans are in accordance.Assist Engineers and Architects to develop Rural King and tenants build out plans.Communicate with internal clients to gather requirements, present design concepts, and incorporate feedback.Oversee design quality throughout the construction process, ensuring adherence to design intentConduct site visits to assess conditions, provide design guidance, and ensure alignment with project plansCoordinate with engineers, contractors, and designers to integrate structural, mechanical, and electrical systems into the designRecommend appropriate building materials that enhance functionality, aesthetics, and durabilityPartner with city officials to obtain building permits at local and state levelsEnsure designs are feasible within project budgets and timelinesAssist in the assembly of bid packages for general contractors and subcontractors.May be required to cross train and perform other duties

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ year’s architectural / design experienceBachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering preferredProficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and other design softwareKnowledge of building code requirements including but not limited to IBC, ADA, NEC, NFPA, etc. Analytical skills to include planning, organizing, directing and controlling workflow and processesAbility to use discretion and independent judgment in making decisionsAbility to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.Ability to work independently without supervisionFlexibility with hours: ability to work varied hours, days, night, and weekends as business needs dictate

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Good visual acuity and ability to communicateAbility to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds. Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.

 

 

The pay range for this position is $85.000 - $110,000 annualized and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
