Architectural Designer - Senior

As a Senior Architectural Designer, you will work in an architecture studio on large, high end and custom design projects, providing design leadership by giving clients an excellent service both on design and delivery, continually provide innovative design solutions, improving design quality and represent

Our San Jose studio has a thriving architectural and interior practice focusing on providing innovative solutions and climatically responsible design from large, complex commercial office buildings to smaller repositioning projects for developer and technology clients as well as a growing practice in education. Through our integrated inside-out design approach, we impact both the people working in our buildings and the surrounding community with our inspirational and thought leading design solutions. 

What You Will Do

Design and plan complex architectural projects of varying types  

Work with the Design Director(s) and lead project team in Developing Programming, consulting, strategic planning, conceptual designs, space planning, presentations, design development, and production

Provide creative and process leadership to multiple design teams through all phases of projects.

Manage client relationships and team communication

Leading and monitoring architectural design team

Resolve complex design and technical issues

Coordination with technical team

Build client’s trust and loyalty in Gensler and develop additional business opportunities.

Participation in business development efforts

Your Qualifications

Degree in Architecture, with a rigorous design education

Licensed Architect

10+ years of relevant architecture and design experience, with a strong background designing multiple building typologies of varying scale, including core and shell buildings

International design experience a plus

Creative Initiator that brings curiosity, enthusiasm and a “can do” attitude.

Proficiency in Sketch-up, Rhino, Revit, 3D Studio Max, VRay, Adobe Suite.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Outstanding graphic presentation and storytelling skills

Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents

Construction documentation and/or design detail development experience.

Proven ability to translate design ideas into visuals: diagrams, plans, vignettes, renderings, physical models, simulated walkthroughs.

**The base salary will be estimated between $118,000 - $140,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience**
