The Role:
Sedgwick are excited to expand their Commercial Surveying and Design department and are seeking a skilled Architectural Technologist to join our team, responsible for producing planning and building control applications, construction/tender drawings, and specifications. You will need to have a solid understanding of current UK building regulations.
We are looking for candidates with a proficiency in technical design skills throughout RIBA stages 4-7 to join the team. Demonstrable experience is essential and you must be capable running projects.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will manage on-site projects across the UK and take the lead when necessary. The projects you will work on range from £150k to £2m and include work within the residential, commercial, care, hospitality, retail, leisure, refurbishment and conservation sectors.
Responsibilities will include:
Producing planning applications, building control applications construction/tender drawings, and specifications.Managing UK-wide on-site projects with the ability and flexibility to travel to site when required.Liaising with clients and main contractors.Ensuring effective time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.Supporting the team with a can-do attitude, reliability, and consistency.You will have/will be:
Hands-on proficiency in producing planning applications, construction/tender drawings, and specifications.Preparation and co-ordination of technical informationSolid knowledge of current Scottish and English (preferred) building regulations.Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.Experience in detailing multiple buildings construction types.Confident personality with excellent communication skills.A flexible problem solver and decision maker.Effective in time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.Actively supportive within the team.Many of our colleagues now benefit from working flexibly between the office and home, which helps support a healthy work/life balance.
