Architectural Technologist

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Possess knowledge and understanding of North American building design and construction.Understand specific design requirements for critical operations centers.Develop conceptual layouts from sketches, notes, and other input materials.Translate preliminary layouts into schematic designs, design intent packages, and construction documents for approval, permits, or construction under the supervision of the CRDM.Prepare sightline ergonomic studies to ensure proper placement of video walls/screens.Coordinate with outside architects, engineers, consultants, and vendors as required.Design and review drawings for accuracy and compliance with local building codes/ADA requirements before submission.Understand the requirements for obtaining development and building permits.Perform detailed site surveys to create accurate as-built drawings of existing spaces.Design custom millwork prepare schematic drawings for millwork contractors, and review shop drawings for accuracy.Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers, Project Management, and Modelling groups on console and millwork design and layout.Create customized Color Board finish options for client approval.Schedule and oversee 3D renderings, providing clear instructions, markups, and detailed 3D models to ensure timely and realistic results.Research and compile construction materials and products.Work closely with the design manager to ensure project success through client satisfaction and high-quality outcomes.Coordinate with on-site subcontractors to address discrepancies between drawings and field conditions.Prepare project design schedules based on workloads and client needs.Update and maintain internal project tracking reports for assigned projects.Competencies & Behaviors Required:Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and presentation software.Knowledge of other relevant 3D programs is an asset.Ability to consistently meet deadlines and schedules.Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Capacity to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Motivation to develop skills and take on more responsibilities for growth within the department.Keen attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment when required.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Educational Requirements:A 2-year Diploma in Architectural Technologies or equivalent.3–5 years of experience as an Architectural Technologist.Proficiency in Revit is required.Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and its integration with Revit is an asset.
