Reporting to the Director of the Architecture Research Center (ARC), the Architecture Archives Assistant is primarily responsible for the processing and preliminary description of recently acquired collections in existing finding aids in Access to Memory (AToM). Under the guidance of the Director of the ARC, the Archives Assistant will aid researchers in the reading room with general resources and in Special Collections, Secure Access, and archival collections. The Archives Assistant will also cover the circulation desk when necessary.

Performance
Coordinates the processing of collectionsProvides reference and research services for archival collections in Architecture Research Center.Creates descriptive metadata for architecture archives following accepted practices and standards and works with catalogers and archivistsCommunicates effectively, works collaboratively, and maintains helpful and supportive customer service.Contributes to the development and management of special projects as requested.Follows Libraries’ and University’s strategic objectives.Models the University’s DIRECCT” values (diversity, integrity, responsibility, excellence, compassion, creativity, and teamwork).Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma. Bachelor of Art in Architecture preferred.Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered. Knowledge of architecture, urban planning, urban design, and history.Experience providing reference or research assistance in an academic library.Demonstrated strength in written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
