Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Architecture Designer for immediate employment in our Baltimore, MD office. We have exciting opportunities for significant Transportation projects. Applicants should have had exposure to heavy and light rail station and maintenance facility projects.

AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. With a range of expertise from strategy and design through project realization, we create better outcomes to grow economies, protect natural systems, conserve natural resources, make societies more equitable and connect and engage people through innovative, sustainable design solutions.

The responsibilities of the Architecture Designer will include but are not limited to:

Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related field and 4+ years in architecture experience covering aspects of building design including survey, design development, construction documents, construction administration or demonstrated equivalency of experience/educationMust be proficient in AutoCAD 2010 (or higher version) and Autodesk Revit 2014 (or higher version)Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in large and complex projects/programsExperience with government agencies/projectsDemonstrate enthusiasm, highly motivated and detail orientedExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent technical and relationship building skillsMust be able to work well with clients, staff and consultantsStrong knowledge of American Disabilities Act/American Barriers Act and the International Building CodeManagement experience on BIM projects highly desirableUnderstanding of pre-development efforts
