Title: Physical Therapist Salary: Starting at $72000 / annually depending on experience Job Summary The School Physical Therapist provides direct/consultative physical therapy services to students, including informal assessment/goal setting/treatment program planning/implementation/related documentation and communication to education staff/related services/family. The School Physical Therapist provides appropriate and consistent services to the student, helping to implement educational activities. The School Physical Therapist will participate in the development of individual student goals/plans/decisions in consultation with school administration/staff/the student’s physician/sending district child study team/family. He/she will be a member or a consultant to the Archway child study team. Obtains current physician’s referral for PT treatment Respond to requests for services/initiate referral when appropriate, contacts appropriate personnel Screens students to determine the need for intervention Evaluates students to obtain/interpret data necessary for treatment planning/implementation Interprets evaluation, findings, and outcomes of intervention for teachers/CST personnel/family Develop IEPs including goals, objectives, methods, strategies, materials, and evaluations. Determines level of treatment based on individual needs/abilities Coordinates treatment plan with students/family/educational staff in collaboration with CST team Implements PT procedures within the educational setting as prescribed by the student’s IEP Implements treatment plan directly with students and/or in consultation with educational staff/family Monitors student’s response to intervention/modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals Develops appropriate in-classroom/home programming to maintain/enhance student’s performance in their own environment, with follow-through to ensure proper execution of the program Works with other support services to develop new areas of learning to meet the student’s transitional needs. Arrives to work on time and adheres to the electronic sign-in/payroll system and attendance policy Documents results of student’s evaluation/treatment/follow-up/termination of services Develops/provides in-service education to staff/family Participates in developing services/policies/procedures as a member of the Archway Child Study team, to determine the most effective program implementation Initiates/participates in peer review/self-evaluation Attends yearly “Handle With Care” Primary Restraint Technique (PRT) training. Responsible for any miscellaneous duties as assigned. At least one year's experience NJ Certified School Physical Therapist
