Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Los Angeles is looking for a new Area Air Logistics Gateway & Procurement Manager to join our Air Logistics team. Your Role You will be responsible for servicing and growing the air export product by overseeing the operations of the regional or national gateway. Your role includes leading, mentoring, and professionally developing the staff at the gateway. Additionally, you will support the regional and national air export product, coordinate with air export origin stations across the region and nation, and address the needs of destination stations worldwide. It’s essential to positively represent and project the company’s culture. Furthermore, you’ll also assist with import product requirements and foster positive professional relationships with air carriers and other transportation service providers. Upholding Kuehne + Nagel’s code of conduct, policies, and procedures is a key part of your responsibilities. Your Responsibilities Take complete ownership of the regional air export gateway operation.Develop effective means of supporting growth of the air export product.Lead the gateway team in close support of host branch as well as air export efforts throughout the region.Support business process improvement initiatives at gateways and branch offices.Plan and operate scheduled consolidation services to achieve prescribed levels of on-time performance Manage and develop air carrier relationsDevelop, mentor, and train gateway staff in compliance with company training and development requirements.Report to Regional Air Logistics Carrier & Gateway ManagerSchedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Your Skills and Experiences Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience7+ years of experience in Air export and gateway operations7+ years of experience in a leadership position4 + years of experience with Air Carrier managementExperience in a warehouse environment Good Reasons to Join At Kuehne+Nagel we strive daily to inspire, empower, and deliver not only to our customers, but also to our colleagues. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
